Annoying FanGirls
RANT:
Disclaimer - While I can be a fangirl, I do my best not to be because they’re FUCKING ANNOYING.

This will annoy me. I hate it when there’s a re-make, or something becomes popular due to attractive men. The fangirls… Honestly, it kills me. That’s the only reason why Twilight was successful. The literature is absolute crap, poorly written and there’s no fucking plot, it’s just terrible all over.
While I have loved Star Trek since I was about 10 years old when my dad introduced it to me, millions of girls this May will suddenly become “fans” just because of one man. I agree, he’s attractive. But, he’s an even better actor. That’s why I love him, because he makes you believe his character, he is that character! I am a die-hard Trekkies. I bet these girls/airheads won’t even know that this movie is based off an entirely different timeline.
They won’t know about Spock and the Tribbles!

They won’t know that Star Trek aired the first inter-racial kiss!
There are so many other things these idiots will not know/appreciate as I do. I am a die-hard Trekkie. I have been for 9 years (I’m 19), and I have loved the series not because of “hot men”, but because of the messages it sends us. I love it because of the passion and amazing acting that took place.
And I’m heartbroken that one of my beloved series will now belong to fangirls.
I’m not saying this to start an argument, but don’t you think it might be a good thing that all these new people will be watching the new movie? They may fall in love with star trek as they watch it and then go back and watch it from the start. I myself wasn’t a fan until the 2009 movie came out and I thoroughly enjoyed going back and finding out everything about the show and its history and the federation. It will be wonderful to have some new blood in the fandom and I personally cannot wait. And sure there may be some people that are annoying, but you can ignore them or something, and they certainly don’t need to be called ‘idiots’ just because they’ve never sat down and watched star trek before! Help them learn after they watch, let them feel welcome and loved, make sure they know that we don’t care when they started watching, because otherwise the trek fandom is going to get a horrible reputation
